Police bust four gangs of robbers

Recover motorcycles, mobile phones, cash, weapons from their possession

ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad police on Tuesday apprehended members of four different gangs and recovered motorcycles, cash and weapons from their possession.

Golra police arrested eight accused of three different gangs involved in numerous robberies, a police spokesman said adding that the police also recovered four motorbikes, four pistols, 14 mobile phones and cash worth Rs850,000 from their possession.

He said that the accused involved in snatching mobile phones were identified as Hasnain Gulzar and Mazah Younas while two accused involved in looting citizens from outside banks were identified as Ghulam Murtaza and Laiq Zada.

Similarly, four accused involved in looting people on roads were identified as Bilal Ahmad, Aman Ullah, Mati Ullah and Mateeq Ur Rehman. All the arrested accused have confessed to their involvement in numerous robberies and mugging incidents in areas of Ramna, Karachi Company, Shalimar, Noon and Westridge police stations.

Meanwhile, Koral police busted a notorious robbers’ gang involved in robberies in the twin cities.
