Makhdoom Khaliq passes away
Former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) member of the National Assembly, Makhdoom Khaliq-ul-Zaman, who played an important role in the movement for restoration of democracy (MRD), has passed away.
Makhdoom Jameel-ul-Zaman, the spiritual leader of Sarwari Jamaat, said that Makhdoom Khaliq was suffering from diabetes, blood pressure and kidney disease. He was being treated at a private hospital in Karachi.
Makhdoom Khaliq was the uncle of Makhdoom Jameel-ul-Zaman and brother of former federal minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim. Makhdoom Khaliq will be buried in the graveyard of his hometown Hala. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, expressing deep sorrow over the demise of the senior politician, said Zaman endured the hardships of incarceration during MRD. "His services will be remembered. May Allah Almighty bless the departed soul," Bilawal said.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Makhdoom Khaliq-ul-Zaman. The CM said that Makhdoom Khaliq was a colleague of Benazir Bhutto and an important PPP leader. "The services of Makhdoom Khaliq will always be remembered."
PPP Senator Nisar Khuhro, Provincial Minister Imtiaz Shakh, Sindh Government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab, provincial ministers Saeed Ghani and Nasir Hussain Shah and Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and others expressed their condolences.
