Two held over fraud in Kifaalat programme

Suspects handed over to FIA for 'making illegal cuts'

MUZAFFARGARH:

Ehsaas Kifaalat Programme (EKP) officials caught two retailers and handed them over to the FIA cyber crime wing on the charge of making illegal cuts from the financial assistance meant for Ehsaas programme beneficiary women at Kot Addu on Monday.

Ehsaas Kifaalat programme Assistant Director Malik Zafar Ali during a surprise visit to payment counters along with assistant director Kot Addu Irfan Khursheed Malik, found two accused Abdur Razzaq and Naveed using fraudulent tactics to deprive Ehsaas beneficiary women of the financial aid they receive under Ehsaas, a flagship social safety programme of the government.

During a visit to payment counters in Rangpur, the officials, in response to a complaint from a woman Hafeezaan Mai, recovered Rs 9000 from Jilani mobiles ID No 1713126 and handed the cash over to the complainant.

A case was also got registered against the accused with Rangpur police.
