Saeed lauds overseas Pakistanis
Overseas Pakistanis living in different parts of the world sent over $30 billion back home last year, giving a boost to the national exchequer, said Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed.
Addressing a three-day Overseas Pakistanis Convention on Monday, he lauded the commitment of expatriates to their home country and added that they were fueling the national economy by sending their hard-earned money back home.
“Overseas Pakistan are the ambassadors of the country and pride of Pakistan,” he said.
Citing that previous leaders had damaged the reputation of the country owing to rampant corruption and money laundering, he stated that overseas Pakistan played a key role in restoring economic stability in Pakistan by sending billions of rupees worth of foreign exchange.
