Pir among three killed in separate incidents

According to a victim’s sister, her brother was murdered for money

In three separate incidents, a man killed his wife, “followers” killed their Pir while opponents shot and killed one young man and injured another.

Police had launched raids to arrest the suspects.

According to the police report, Rubina Kausar, wife of Nasir Hussain, a resident of Okara District, told the police in her statement that her 40-year-old brother, Syed Qamar Abbas Shah, was a Pir who had to marry off his daughter.

She said that her brother had been visiting his followers in Chak No. 57 GB, Ghiala, where one of his followers gave him Rs150,000 while other followers also gave him money. The total amount of money given to him amounted to around Rs1 million besides a gold ring and a mobile phone.

Rubina Kausar alleged in her statement that some followers of his brother, whom she identified as Allah Rakha, Shabbir and Asghar Ali, grew greedy for the money.

“They asked my brother to spend the night with them, and during the night they hit my brother on the head and in the forehead with a sharp tool, injuring him seriously,” she said.

The Pir was rushed to the Allied Hospital where he died.

Police registered a case under Section 302/34 TPP.

In another incident, 35-year-old Zafar Iqbal and 25-year-old Fayyaz Ahmed came under fire near Jhumra Road Deputy Interchange.

Zafar Iqbal died on his way to the hospital. Police launched raids to arrest the assailants.

Meanwhile, due to a domestic dispute in the suburban village 202 GB, Abdul Rehman allegedly stabbed his 28-year-old wife Hira to death.

The victim was said to be mother of four children.

Police handed over the body to her heirs after the postmortem and registered a case.

In an equally bizarre incident in Tandlianwala in June last year, a man had allegedly beaten his wife and daughter to death over a petty dispute.

Reportedly, after not getting Rs500, the deranged man had beaten his wife and daughter to death with a stick.

Police handed over the bodies to the relatives after postmortem and arrested the suspect after registering a case against him.

According to the police report, Saleem, a resident of Gulshan-e-Rehman Colony on the outskirts of Tandlianwala, had demanded Rs500 from his wife, 42-year-old Farzana Bibi.

The suspect’s wife had refused to give him the money. In a fit of rage, Saleem started beating his wife with a stick he found lying in the house.

The suspect allegedly hit her on the head multiple times.

Meanwhile, the 18-year-old daughter of the suspect, Umm-e-Kulsoom, came to the rescue of her mother. She managed to stop the physical assault but the suspect then started hitting her on the head with the stick.

As a result, the suspect’s daughter died on the spot while his wife was rushed to the Civil Hospital in a critical condition where she died of her injuries.

Tandlianwala City Police Station SHO Omar Sarfraz Warraich reached the spot on information and handed over the bodies of the woman and her daughter to their heirs after postmortem. On the complaint of Farzana's other daughter, Kausar Parveen, a case had been registered against the suspect under Section 302 of the PPC.

Police conducted raids in various areas of the city and arrested the alleged murderer.

Police officials said that during initial investigation, the suspect had confessed to killing his wife and daughter due to a domestic quarrel.
