Governor, CM, corps commander pledge justice for martyrs

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan and Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Faiz Hameed on Saturday visited Imambargah Hussainabad, Kohati Gate Peshawar and offered fateha for the martyrs.

They expressed sympathies with the elders of the area as well as the relatives of those who lost their lives in the incident, praying for the eternal peace of the departed souls and early recovery of the injured ones.

They condemned the incident, vowing to fight terrorism till the end.

They said that the entire nation needs to understand the common enemy’s motives behind such incidents which is nothing but to divide the nation, urging the whole nation to demonstrate unity and fight back the enemy with the spirit of national unity.

CM Mahmood said that the losses were huge and irreparable but the government “is fully committed to nab the culprits and bring them to justice”. “An effective strategy is being chalked out to prevent such incidents in the future.”

He said that the future course of action would be planned by learning lessons from the mistakes committed earlier and removing the weakness from the system.

Mahmood said necessary steps were being taken to beef up security of worship places and other sensitive spots across the province. “Though war against terrorism is not easy to fight but with the spirit of national unity, we will fight to defeat the common enemy of the nation.”

Corps Commander Lt Gen Faiz said that with the support of the government and the public, security forces were committed to eradicate the menace of terrorism, and “coordination among all the relevant entities is being further improved” for the purpose.

Elders of the community thanked the governor, chief minister and corps commander, vowing that they would not let any political group exploit the incident for its gain.
