Qualifying round for off-road event completed

Medical centres and ambulances have been arranged by the department of health

The qualifying round of national off-road jeep rally on second day of the four-day National Derajat Festival completed successfully in DI Khan on Friday.

For this purpose, a 120-km track has been prepared along the CPEC route where various points have been set up for the spectators and camps have also been set up at specific distances.

At the same time, medical centres and ambulances have been arranged by the department of health and Rescue 1122 to deal with any security and emergency situation. Similarly the cultural and local sport events and competitions featuring the Derajat Festival have been organized at Dera Sports Stadium.

K-P Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur along with the local administration authorities visited the route, rest areas along the route of jeep rally as well as the Dera Sports Stadium and inspected the arrangements. He expressed satisfaction over all the arrangements.

He was informed that the process of tagging and tracking of vehicles has already been completed in connection with the National Jeep Rally.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur and Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur handed over the tags of sports vehicles to the racers participating in the challenge rally during a ceremony the previous day.

In today’s qualifying round, Zain Mahmood won first, Sahibzada Sultan second and Adil Naeem third position. In total, more than 80 players are participating in the race.

The stock category competitions will start tomorrow, March 5, from 8 am whereas there are also two categories of the rally for female racers.

In order to further enhance the beauty of Derajat Festival, Dera police has also prepared a special vehicle named after the police martyrs during the war on terror in the recent past.

Talking to local media in this regard, Faisal Amin Gandapur said that the peace of Dera Ismail Khan is the result of the sacrifices of the police and other security forces who have made immense sacrifices.
