Book launched on Talangana peasant uprising

Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, organized a book launch of Syed Mazhar Jameel's book "Mughni-e-Atash Nafs Makhdoom Mohiuddin and Telangana Tehreek" at Hasina Moin Hall, which was presided over by Zehra Nigah, Sehar Ansari, and Iftikhar Arif.

Mohiuddin was a Marxist activist who played a key role in the Talangana communist uprising against the Nizam of Deccan in 1946.

Haris Khaliq, Rukhsana Saba, Moinuddin Aqeel, Mazhar Jameel, and others were among those who spoke on occasion.

Zahra Nagah said that blessed are those who live with faith in self-confidence and that this is what eternal life is all about. She said that it should be done with great joy and respect when great people are remembered. The footsteps of Makhdoom will always shine.

Prof. Sehar Ansari, in his address, said that the scope and precision with which Mazhar Jameel has brought Makhdoom Mohi-ud-Din and Telangana movement together is genuinely admirable.

The book can be presented in three parts. The first is the Deccan's history, the second is the Telangana movement, and the third part is about Makhdoom, his progressive, which had been presented with excellent analysis.

Ifthikar Arif said that Makhdoom was a unique man, and the amount of material that Mazhar Jameel collected in his latest book is unmatched. His services to Sindhi language and literature are commendable. Great damage had been done to Urdu literature. When the progressive movement became an organization, its influence continued to wither, and it did not remain the same as before.

Haris Khaliq said a need to re-establish the relationship between the writer, the labourer, the socio-economic expert, the journalist, and the artist, is reflected in Mazhar Jameel's book. He is one of the essential judges whose writing have provided an extraordinary intellectual impetus to his contemporaries, for which we and the generation to come will be grateful.
