Derajat Festival kicks off in DI Khan
The Derajat Festival formally kicked off in Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday. The process of registration, tagging and inspection of vehicles has also started in connection with the National Off-Road Challenge Jeep Rally to be held in connection with this colorful cultural and sports event.
Provincial Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur distributed tags among the participants of Off Road Challenge Jeep Rally during a simple but graceful ceremony. He welcomed them and inspected their vehicles.
Fans and participants from across the country have also started arriving for the festival which will continue till March 6.
Speaking on the occasion, Gandapur said that last year people enjoyed the festival and it was very well received by the people. However, better arrangements have been made this year so that people could have maximum recreational opportunities in the area. He said that Derajat Festival is a mega event which is being held in the main sports stadium of the city.

The second off-road jeep rally is also being held in Dera Ismail Khan for which a challenging route has been prepared.
He said that this festival would promote peace and local culture of Dera Ismail Khan at the national level. Foolproof security arrangements have been made for the festival. Camps have also been set up by the local administration at appropriate distances.
Sahibzada Sultan, a wellknown car racer who is also taking part in the off-road challenge, told reporters that the track has been made extremely beautiful while date-palm trees are adding grace all along the route.
This charming route is located at the foot of the mountains and that is why racers from all over the country are attracted to participate in this event.
