PTI Pindi division lawmakers get funds ahead of LG polls

No development funds allocated for constituencies of opposition members

The Punjab local government department has allocated Rs1.91 billion for development schemes in the Rawalpindi division on the recommendations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members of national and provincial assemblies ahead of local government elections.

No development funds have been allocated for constituencies of members of opposition parties including the constituencies of MNA Raja Pervez Ashraf in Gujar Khan and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

Development funds have also been allocated for PTI National Assembly Member Amir Mehmood Kayani, MPA Umar Tanvir Butt and Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, MPA Malik Timur Masood Khan.

The Punjab local government department has started development schemes in seven constituencies of the National Assembly and 15 constituencies of the Punjab Assembly in the Rawalpindi division.

In NA-58 Gujjar Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Azeem, who was defeated by Raja Pervez Ashraf in the last general election, has been asked to propose development schemes worth Rs 54.71 million while in Punjab Assembly constituency PP-10, a defeated PTI ticket holder has been asked to propose development schemes worth Rs 54.71 million.

Among National Assembly members, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has been granted Rs192.55 million for developmental schemes while in Punjab Assembly, Provincial Minister Raja Rashid Hafeez from PP-16 has been asked to propose development schemes worth Rs192.55 million and Ejaz Khan Jazi of PP-18 has been asked to propose development schemes of 192.55 million.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Ejaz Khan Jazi and Rashid Hafeez have been allotted more development funds due to the inclusion of their constituencies in the Rawalpindi metropolitan corporation.

In NA-57 Murree, PTI MNA Sadaqat Ali Abbasi has been given Rs 54.71 million, in NA-59 Rawalpindi, Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan has been given Rs 54.71 million, in NA-60 Rawalpindi City, PTI MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq has been given Rs126.39 million while Mansoor Hayat Khan from NA-63 Taxila has been given Rs96.06 million.

In PP-6 Murree, Major (retd) Latasip Satti has been given 54.71 million, in PP-7 Kahuta, Raja Saghir Ahmed has been allocated 54.71 million, in PP-8 Gujar Khan, Chaudhry Jaid Kausar has been given Rs54.71 million, in PP-9 Gujar Khan, Chaudhry Sajid Mahmood has been given 54.71 million, Rs54.71 million to PTI ticket holder who was defeated by Chaudhry Nisar, in PP-71, Chaudhry Adnan has been given Rs76.76 million, in PP-12, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi has been given Rs176.01 million, PP13 to Amjad Mahmood Chaudhry Rs162.23 million, in PP-14.

In PP-16, Provincial Minister Raja Rashid Hafeez has been given Rs192.55 million, in PP-17, Provincial Minister Fayyaz Al Hassan Chauhan has been given Rs164.98 million, in PP-18, Ijaz Khan Jazi has been allocated Rs192.55 million, in PP-19 and Ammar Siddique Khan has been given Rs96.06 million.
