South Waziristan clinches Tribal Games trophy

Bajaur attained first position in volleyball and got a runners-up trophy in athletics

PESHAWAR:

Creating history for the first time, South Waziristan clinched the Tribal Games trophy which concluded at the Qayyum Sports Complex on Monday.

South Waziristan for the first time stunned Khyber District and claimed the football, hockey and Kabaddi trophies apart from grabbing the runner-up trophy for volleyball while Khyber clinched first position in basketball, athletics and remained second in hockey.

Bajaur attained first position in volleyball and got a runners-up trophy in athletics. The Tribal District Major Games organised under the Directorate of Sports Merged Districts have come to an end.

South Waziristan clinched the trophy by defeating Kohat sub-division 3-1 in the final of the football match played at Tahmas Khan Football Stadium.

Taimur was awarded Player of the Tournament while North Waziristan was awarded the Fair Play Trophy.

Tribal Districts Director Pir Abdullah Shah was the chief guest on this occasion. Focal Persons Awan Hussain, District Sports Manager Ayub Khan, Rahad Gul Mulagori, Sajid Khan, Taj Wazir, other officials and a large number of players were also present.
