CCPO reviews security measures at stadium
The Capital City Police Officer, Fayyaz Ahmad Dev, on Sunday visited the Gaddafi Stadium and reviewed the security and traffic arrangements made by the Lahore Police for the final match of the Pakistan Super League played between the Lahore Qalanders and the Multan Sultans.
The DIG (Operations), Dr Abid Khan, SSP (Operations) Capt (Retd.) Mustansar Feroze, the SSP of Security, Rashid Hydayat and officials of the PCB accompanied him. The DIG (Operations), Dr Abid Khan, and the CTO, Muntazir Mehdi, briefed the CCPO of Lahore on the security, traffic and parking arrangements. The CCPO inspected the security arrangements at different entrance and exit gates of the stadium and issued directions to the police officers to further strengthen the arrangements and to remain highly alert and keep a vigilant eye on any suspicious activities.
The CCPO directed the deputed police officials to behave with the spectators in a polite manner. Lahore Police had ensured foolproof security arrangements for all the nineteen T-20 matches of PSL Seven series. Elaborate arrangements of security had been made at the place where the teams stayed and at the routes to the Gaddafi Stadium and its surrounding areas. The teams were brought to the stadium in a strict security tier. More than 8,000 police officers and personnel were deputed for the security of the final match.
