Citizens catch, thrash ‘migrant robber’

An alleged robber fell into the hands of people already incensed by rising crime in Azizabad on Sunday.

They handed over the migrant mugger from Multan to police after a sound thrashing. The accused confessed to police that he belonged to Multan and had come to Karachi for snatchings and muggings with his accomplice.

Two suspects entered a hairdresser's shop in Azizabad and started looting at gunpoint. Meanwhile, the people present there caught one of the suspects while his accomplice managed to escape.

The arrested suspect was subjected to the worst kind of torture by the people who tied him up to an electricity pole until the police arrived on the spot and took him into their custody. The suspect was later shifted to a hospital for emergency medical treatment.
