RWMC disposes of over 19 tonnes of garbage

Initiative has been taken in connection with the month-long cleanliness campaign

RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) disposed of around 19,282 tonnes of garbage from the various areas of the district during the one month of the special cleanliness drive.

The initiative has been taken in connection with the month-long cleanliness campaign that started on January 28. According to an RWMC spokesman, a comprehensive cleanliness plan has been chalked under the campaign to make the district environmental friendly.

He said that around 16,518 tons of waste were removed in Rawalpindi city.

“About 1,428 tonnes were removed from Taxila, Gujjar Khan, Kallar Syedan, Kahutta and Murree, while about 1,335 tonnes of waste was disposed of from private housing societies,” he said.
