Dhar Jawa Dam included in this year’s budget

The dam, to be completed next year, will create jobs

RAWALPINDI:

To cater to the water needs of the residents and make Murree a new tourist district, the project of Dhar Jawa Dam has been included in the next financial year.

To make Murree the first tourist district of Pakistan, all legal preparations and legislation will be completed in the next two months. This new district will consist of only 2 tehsils: Murree and Kotli Sattian. The Revenue Department has been instructed to chart out its revenue forecast.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Member of National Assembly (MNA) from Murree Sadaqat Abbasi told The Express Tribune that inspection of Dhar Jawa Dam site has been completed, he said. It will also create thousands of new jobs opportunities at the local level, he added.

Along with the construction of the new dam, a large amusement park and a small hydroelectric house will also be built. The dam will breed all kinds of fish.

The purpose of this mountain area dam is also to raise water birds. The dam will have boating along with swimming area. Electric boats will be run in the area, while large boats for enjoyment will also be brought on a commercial basis.

In addition to this, in the areas of the dam, all kinds of local fruit plants of hilly areas will also be planted on large scale.

The area is naturally similar to a dam and full of natural landscapes, so approval has also been granted to build a large amusement park. All kinds of flowering plants will also be planted. The MNA said that making Murree a tourist district would boost tourism.
