Punjab Police on Saturday arrested a man in Gujrat accused of harassing a student and attempting to snatch her purse within hours of the incident.
According to a police spokesperson, the man riding a motorcycle tried to assault the student who was returning from her college in the city's Jalalpur Jatan area.

However, the brave girl fought back and attempted to stop the suspect. As a result of this display of courage, the man fell from his motorcycle but later managed to flee from the scene.
The spokesperson said that the student immediately reported the incident to the police who traced the suspect within hours and arrested him.

He requested the citizens to immediately inform the police if such an incident occurs. He also said that Women Safety App can also be used to lodge complaints in this regard.
