Lara Dutta won't endorse sanitary napkins due to their ecological impact

Other items that the Bollywood actor has no interest in promoting include alcohol, cigarettes

Indian actor Lara Dutta recently revealed a list of objects that she does not have any interest in promoting, which include cigarettes, alcohol and sanitary napkins. Listing down the items after being asked whether there was ever a brand deal that she had rejected, Lara shared that while alcohol brands don’t have any content that she finds intriguing, the actor does not wish to promote sanitary napkins due to the ecological impact given their non-biodegradable nature.

According to Filmfare, the Bell Bottom actor responded to the question about rejecting brand deals, “Yes, I have. I don’t associate with alcohol brands. It’s not because I’m a teetotaller but because I think content is really important. Whenever ads come to me, they need to be out of the box and I haven’t seen that with alcohol brands’ advertising. I won’t advertise cigarettes too. In the recent past, I was approached by a brand of sanitary napkins and I turned that down as well."

She added further, "I genuinely believe that it’s time we address the ecological impact that it creates and today there are other options available like menstrual cups which are much better.”

Emphasising how it’s necessary to promote items that one would use themselves, the actor stressed the importance of being sincere. She stated, “I want to be able to promote these kinds of products in the future. I believe in walking the talk. If I’m not going to use the product, I won’t endorse it.”
