CM asks officials to hold open courts

Stresses liaison with lawmakers to solve public problems

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday instructed administration officials across the province to regularly hold open courts in their areas for early solution of public problems.

He was chairing a video link conference of divisional commissioners and regional police officers.

The chief minister emphasised that the citizens should be provided maximum facilities through good governance at the grassroots. The administration officials should regularly hold open courts to solve public problems. He said service delivery of the public sector departments should be given particular attention,

The CM said the administrative officials had been relieved of political pressure so that they could perform their duties independently. He alleged that the past governments had interfered in the affairs of government institutions through political pressure.

He said the officials were duty bound to ensure merit while solving genuine problems of common people without any delay. The also called for sustained liaison with the parliamentarians for solving the problems of the people.

“Close contact should be maintained with the people and the public representatives and an open-door policy should be followed,” he said.

He asserted that the government machinery would have to deliver now.
