UoP students to get police internship

University of Peshawar (UoP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Peshawar Police to provide internship to its students of Social Work Department to get practical experience in resolving social issues faced by the common man in his day to day life.

A formal MoU signing ceremony was held here in this connection. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Abbas Ahsan and Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Dr Mohammad Idrees signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations on the varsity’s premises.

According to the MoU, the students of UoP would get internships in police stations to acquaint themselves with the policing system. Initially 30 students of Social Work Department have been selected for the internship.

Under the MoU, the police force would utilize energies of students to project a soft image of police among the general public and it would help restore confidence of people in the policing system.

Speaking at the event, CCPO said that during the internship students can conduct their researches through a special program.
