Two terrorists killed, arms recovered in DI Khan IBO

Militants were involved in attacks on security forces, target killing and kidnapping for ransom, says ISPR

Two terrorists were killed on Wednesday in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in the tehsil Kulachi of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The operation was conducted "on [the] reported presence of terrorists", the military's media wing added.

It further stated that one of the terrorists were identified as Fazal Rehman alias Khairy, a resident of village Luni, and Mehran, a resident of village Rori.

"Weapons and ammunition were also recovered which include sub-machine guns, hand grenades and large quantity of multiple calibre rounds," the ISPR added.

It went on to add that the killed terrorists were involved in terrorist activities against the security forces, target killing and kidnappings for ransom.

"Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area," the ISPR concluded.

Earlier today, security forces killed 10 terrorists including a commander during a raid in Balochistan's Hoshab.

According to the military, security forces conducted the operation to apprehend externally sponsored enemies of peace in the province.

It added that once the troops started cordoning the area, terrorists tried to flee their hideout and opened indiscriminate fire whereby, a heavy exchange of fire ensued.

It further detailed that the terrorists were involved in recent attacks on security forces in Turbat and Pasni areas, and that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered which was planned for use against the security forces.
