ANKARA:

Four people died when a US Navy contractor’s helicopter crashed on the Hawaii island of Kauai, local media reported on Wednesday.

The helicopter crashed at Kauai’s Pacific Missile Range Facility while offering retrieval support for a training operation, Hawaii News Now reported.

According to Brian Beattie, director of operations for Croman Corporation that operates the S-61 type helicopter, all four civilian employees on board died in the crash, the outlet added.

Meanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board tweeted that it has launched an investigation into the crash.

Neither the US Navy nor the contractor company released the names of those killed, the outlet noted.
