Police recover looted amount from their possession

Gunjmandi police arrested four robbers for their alleged involvement in two different robberies and recovered an amount of Rs7.5 million looted from a trader and a bank.

A police spokesman said three dacoits named Muhammad Akhtar, Muhammad Usman and Muhammad Umair, who had looted Rs7 million from a trader, were rounded up and police recovered the looted amount from their possession.

In another raid, Gunjmandi police managed to net a dacoit, Zaheer Ahmed, who was allegedly involved in a bank robbery and murder of the bank security guard Ansar. Police also recovered an Rs500,000 looted amount from his possession.

He said that a team of investigators was formed to trace the criminals under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, Rawalpindi, SP Criminal Investigation Agency, Sub-Divisional Police Officer City and Station House Officer Gunjmandi.

The teams through modern technology and human intelligence remained successful in arresting the dacoits and recovered Rs7.5 million from them.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Investigation, Ghazanfar Ali Shah, the facilitators would also be arrested soon as raids were being conducted for their arrest.
