Maids ‘sweep clean’ house

Police have registered a case of theft and started an investigatio

On February 19, the two housemaids arrived as usual at 9 o'clock and intoxicated his elderly parents, who live on the ground floor, stole all the jewellery, cash and other belongings and fled.

According to police, the burglary took place at the bungalow on Saturday. A housemaid and her daughter were involved in the incident.

Police have registered a case of theft and started an investigation. The bungalow owner had hired two housemaids to work in the bungalow five months ago. The bungalow owner neither registered them nor took the identity card from them.

Housemaids were working in bungalow No. A-72, located in Block-13/D of Gulshan-e-Iqbal within the limits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station, escaped away with eight sets of gold jewellery, 10 gold bangles, gold rings, gold earrings, two valuable watches, Rs30,000 and other belongings.

Upon receiving the report of the incident, the police reached the spot. Sajjad Haider Ali, the bungalow owner, told police that five months ago, he had hired two housemaids, Shamim, wife of Rafiq and her daughter Humaira daughter of Rafiq, to work in the bungalow who would arrive at 9.00am and leave at 4.00pm.

In this regard, SHO Gulshan-e-Iqbal Ijaz Ahmed Pathan told The Express Tribune that the burglary took place on February 19.

Police also raided the house of the housemaids located within the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station, but no arrests were made. He said that the police had obtained the data of the housemaid's mobile phones with the help of attempts to trace them out.
