Govt foresees boost in economic activities
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that government’s measures are resulting in increased investment in the province with the removal of impediments.
The chief minister said in a statement that a recent agreement with the Dhabi Group based in Dubai was a welcome development as it would not only create employment opportunities but also boost economic activities. The group would make an investment of more than Rs60 billion, he pointed out.
He said the Punjab government had provided conducive environment for investment in the province. The chief minister's facilitation centre has been set up to ensure direct access for investors to the institutions concerned.

The chief minister also said that Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) enjoyed historical fraternal relations. The UAE’s cooperation in the development of Pakistan was commendable, he added.
He said the government appreciated the UAE’s cooperation in the betterment of education, health and other sectors. A large number of Pakistanis live in the UAE and the country has always cooperated with Pakistan, he noted.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Buzdar said in his message on International Mother Language Day that the importance of the mother tongue cannot be denied even in the ever changing digital world.
“Language gives a strong identity to the nations and protection of the mother tongue is a social responsibility of all of us,” he maintained.
The status of mother tongues as a national identity and a valuable cultural heritage is undeniable, he added.
He observed that every word and phrase in the mother tongue contains national traditions, culture, mental and spiritual experiences. He said language is a social gift that is passed to the next generation over time.
The mother tongue is considered an effective means of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, he said.
“Mother tongues create a better awareness of cultural, historical and social traditions around the world,” he concluded.
