QUETTA:

After a failed round of talks with the protesting students of three medical colleges in Quetta, the provincial ministers have warned them against playing dirty politics.

They were warned not to take advantage of the government’s tolerant attitude towards their sit-in and hunger strike in the red zone of the city.

Provincial Ministers Noor Muhammad Dummer and Mubin Khilji on Thursday accused protesting government employees as well as medical students of malicious intentions to defame the Balochsitan government.

They blamed that there were some ulterior political motives behind both the protests of medical students and government employees.

“Why are the medical students shying away from Pakistan Medical Council (PMC)’s special exam after studying for years? asked Dummer at a press conference at the Chief Minister Secretariat.

Dummer termed medical students’ siege of red zone pointless, adding that the Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo along with chief secretary and secretary health was already in Islamabad to address the issue of the registration of three medical colleges with PMC.

In this regard, two rounds of meetings have already taken place between PMC representatives and Balochistan government, he claimed.

The minister advised the students that instead of staging protests, they should attend their classes and concentrate on their studies as their issue was being taken up by the provincial government.
