Security forces have killed a terrorist who made a “suicidal attempt” to enter into a military post in Dossali, a small town of North Waziristan district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday that the terrorist fired small arms and also tried to lob a grenade on security before being shot dead.

The troops were on alert and prepared for the situation, initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorist. “Resultant, the terrorist got killed.”

The military’s media wing said weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the terrorist identified as Sharif. The militant remained actively involved in terrorist activities against the security forces.

Locals of the area appreciated the prompt response of the security forces and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the area, it added.
