KARACHI:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani has urged his Sindh counterpart Agha Siraj Durrani to enure equal participation of the opposition in the assembly affairs.

During a visit to the Sindh Assembly on Monday, the K-P speaker said it was his first ever visit to the historical assembly. He highlighted that out of 145 members of the K-P assembly, 95 belonged to PTI and the opposition was given representation in all the 32 standing committees of the K-P assembly.

Ghani further said the opposition in K-P assembly was given an inclusive opportunity to dispose of their constitutional responsibilities as 10 standing committees were headed by the opposition legislators while there were at least three members of opposition benches in every committee of the provincial assembly including the Public Accounts Committee.

The K-P speaker deplored that fact that the opposition in Sindh assembly was kept out of standing committees and the PAC.
