MIRPUR:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that all the political parties and leaders of the state are on one page to aggressively highlight the Kashmir issue at the international level.

The President was speaking at a reception hosted in his honour on Sunday. “We will now draw the attention of the international community to the Kashmir issue by aggressively raising it at the international level.”

He added that conferences, protests rallies and other events will be organised within the state and in different countries of the world to project the Kashmir issue aggressively in the light of the decisions of the all parties Kashmir conference.

Barrister Sultan further said time has come for India to be isolated in the world by exposing the ugly face and ugly character of India. He said the Indian government is bent upon changing the demography of the state to fulfill its nefarious designs settling non-state actors in IIOJK.

“Thousands of innocent Kashmiris are being held in the jails of IIOJK and after August 5, 2019, a new era of oppression has started which is still going on,” the AJK President said, adding that a Kashmir Rally will be held on February 24 in Islamabad which will be taken from National Press Club Islamabad to D-Chowk in which a large number of people from all political parties and schools of thought will participate.

On other hand, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed its concern over the beleaguered situation prevailing in the territory regarding the deprivation of fundamental rights at the hands of Indian forces in IIOJK.

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) the APHC spokesperson in a statement issued in Srinagar said the people of the territory are living a hellish life under the shadow of a war.

He deplored the strangulation of the freedom of expression, arbitrary arrests of journalists, disallowing prayers in the Jamia Masjid of Srinagar and denial of civil liberty at the hands of Indian forces and said that the territory had been swarmed by over one million Indian troops, converting it into a big hellish jail.

The spokesperson, referring to the resistance potential of the people, said the brave people of Kashmir, facing the wrath of the biggest military presence in the contemporary world, have thwarted and repelled all overt and covert conspiracies, including so-called ‘Catch and Kill’ and ‘Operation All Out’ launched as a part of genocide of the people of Kashmir.

Praising the valor and fortitude of the freedom-loving people of Kashmir, he said the systematic atrocities inflicted on the people has yielded nothing to India but has strengthened the resistance movement against Indian illegal occupation.

The legitimate demand for right to self-determination has become the voice of the people of Kashmir now, affirmed the spokesperson. He urged the United Nations to take serious cognizance of the Indian state terrorism and take appropriate measures to stop genocide and human rights abuses in the territory which has been converted into a battleground by India.

The spokesperson added that it had become highly imperative to resolve the Kashmir dispute, which has been termed as a nuclear flash point, a grave threat to world peace and prosperity.

The people of Kashmir have rendered innumerable sacrifices for the sacred cause of freedom and the World Body must take serious action to settle the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions.
