Festival provides an opportunity to take part in hiking, survival camp, sculpture, etc

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations Barrister Muhammad Ali on Friday inaugurated a three-day Galiyat Snow Festival.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa government was taking pragmatic steps for the promotion of tourism in the province and for this purpose the facilities were being ensured at all tourists spots.

He added that new tourist spots are also being explored to attract local and foreign tourists. The event features exciting activities across the Galiyat region and aims at promoting winter/adventure tourism in the region.

The minister explored sorrow over the Murree incident and said that it was a tragic incident. All the roads in Galiyat were opened for traffic and people can visit these areas now, he added.

A Galiyat Development Authority spokesman said that the festival provides an opportunity to take part in hiking, survival camp, sculpture, tug of war, and paintball competitions. The last day’s activities include, archery, snow-tubing and a quad bike race.

A live music concert is also part of the event in which singers Raheel Abbas and Bilal Saeed and the Khumariyan band will perform.
