FAISALABAD:

The government is focusing on bringing ease of doing business and attracting investment to promote industrialisation in the Special Economic Zones (SEZs), remarked Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In a meeting with office-bearers of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on Wednesday, the premier underlined that the government was striving to provide low-cost electricity and gas to the industries for reducing the cost of doing business.

Khan instructed the authorities concerned to take all-out measures for the promotion of industrialisation to create job opportunities for the youth.

“All measures of the government for the promotion of industries are part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) manifesto,” he said and directed all federal and provincial ministries to ensure its implementation.

On the occasion, the FCCI office-bearers told the premier that the business community wanted to establish an airport, a hospital and a theme park in Faisalabad through public-private partnership.

The aim of the schemes was to offer facilities to foreign investors that would be at par with the international standards, and to attract investment in small and medium industries, particularly in the areas of textile, poultry and information technology, they said.
