20 footballers selected for training in Ireland

Selected players will be trained in St Patrick’s, Dublin

KARACHI:

Twenty 20 emerging footballers from across the country were selected for training in the Road to Europe under the Talent Hunt Scheme of the PM Kamyab Jawan Programme.

With the support of Global Soccer Venture (GSV), the selected players will be trained in St Patrick's, Dublin.

European coach Ireland's Jake O'Brien selected the players along with Belgium's Carl Frey, Ricardo and Britain's Mark Antonio.

Hamza Yasir, 11, from Lahore, was declared a Wonder Kid for his extraordinary abilities and was selected for special training in Europe.

This was stated by Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Usman Dar, GSV CCO Zeb Khan, former national captain Isa Khan and Jake O'Brien at a press conference held at KPT Football Stadium.

On the occasion, the Sind governor said that he hoped that Pakistan would produce sports stars in the future. The new generation will lead the country on the path of development.

Dar said that the talent would be brought to the fore. Zainul Abidin and Tauqeer Al Hassan from Faisalabad, Asadullah and Hamza Munir from Lahore, Shaiq Dost, Junaid Ahmed, Khalil Ali Jan and Mudassar Nazar from Quetta, Naseer Ahmed, Ehsanullah, Zeeshan Ali, Nabi Bakhsh and Mohibullah from Karachi, Usman Ali, Muhammad Saddam and Muhammad Taha from Islamabad and Alamgir Ghazi, Omar Farooq Khan and Muhammad Haris Faiz from Peshawar were among the 20 players selected from 10 cities.
