Couple lands in jail for seeking job fraudulently

Impersonator ordered DC to employ suspects in education department

OKARA:

A man and his wife were arrested over making a fake phone call to the deputy commissioner of Okara by impersonating a judge to get a government job.

DC Muhammad Ali Ijaz ordered arrest of the suspects from his office.

Police registered a case against the couple on the complaint of the Tehsildar of Okara.

According to police sources, suspect Tanveer, son of Mansha, contacted the deputy commissioner by phone and claimed to be a judge. He said he was sending Akbar Ali and his wife and Sughra to the DC’s office. The caller commanded the DC to immediately provide the two candidates government jobs in the education department.

The next day, Akbar and Sughra reached the office of the DC, introduced themselves and said the caller had sent them.

The DC got suspicious and sought clarification of the matter. The inquiry showed that the suspects had committed a fraud to get employed.

On finding out the truth, the Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali immediately ordered his staff to call the police. The police reached the spot on information and arrested the man and woman from the DC office.

On the complaint of Tehsildar Asif Virk, Saddar police registered a case against the suspects Tanveer, Akbar and Sughra under Sections 420, 419 and 86 and the Telegraph Act.
