Rangers, police arrest ‘gunrunners’

The accused used to smuggle arms from K-P to different cities of Sindh and Punjab in passenger buses

KARACHI:

Sindh Rangers and police in a joint operation in Orangi Town arrested three inter-provincial arms smuggling gang members and recovered a large number of arms from their possession.

According to a spokesperson of Sindh Rangers, Pakistan Rangers Sindh and police, in a joint operation based on intelligence information, arrested Ataullah, Irfan and Fayyaz, three members of an inter-provincial arms smuggling gang, from Orangi Town.

As many as 11 pistols, 22 magazines and a metal punch were recovered from the accused’s possession. According to the spokesperson, during the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed that they sell arms to the people using various social media platforms.

Previously, a consignment of arms of the accused was seized near Peshawar Motorway Interchange.
