Humayun Saeed ‘disappointed’ by the rate of female doctors quitting medicine
Actor and producer Humayun Saeed recently took to Twitter to share his disapointment in the rate of female doctors quitting the medical field after completing their studies. He also elaborated on how this drop-out rate can possibly be chalked down to societal pressures faced by female doctors.
He tweeted, “Disappointed to find out that only 1 out of 4 female doctors practice after graduation in Pakistan because of family pressure.” He teased a possible new project on the topic, writing, “Thinking of a new project, maybe to highlight this issue. Let’s encourage women to pursue their dreams.”
The Meray Paas Tum Ho actor also added a hashtag that read, “Doctor Bahu [daughter-in-law].”
