Registration opens for Karachi Marathon
Karachi Commissioner, Muhammad Iqbal Memon has announced that the registration for the 3rd Commissioner Karachi City Marathon is now open. He asked citizens from across the city to come forward and register to participate in the race that will be held on February 13.
He said the marathon is an important event for Karachi and positions the city as a city of peace. He urged citizens to come together to make it successful.
Speaking at a press briefing he said the marathon is open to everyone, and registrations can be made through the link: https://apcp-pak.live/online_registration/.
Spot registration can also be made at Moin Khan Academy DHA before the start of the Marathon at 8.30am to 9.30am and so the race will start at 10.00am.
Karachi's Additional Commissioner, Jawwad Muzaffar, South Deputy Commissioner, Irshad Sodhar members of technical committee, Assistant Commissioner General, Abid Qamar, Civil Lines Assistant Commissioner, Shahab Aslam, and representatives of the sponsors of the event and others were present on the occasion.
The commissioner said that Under 19, Under 29, and 29 plus competitions would be held, however the vateran runners would be participating under a special category.
Special persons and children above12 years with their family would also be participating in a special category of Fun Run.

He said, "the marathon is a meant to bring the citizens of Karachi together. Athletic activities such as these energise the youth and give them a way to take ownership of the city."
He was optimist saying that the race would strengthen the efforts to promote peace in the city and positive activities are being carried out by the Sindh government and the city administration on the directives of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
He said that the marathon will cover a distance of ten kilmotres for male runners and 6 kilometres for females.
He mentioned that race will begin from Moin Khan Academy at Khayaban-e-Tipu in DHA and pass through Abdul Sattar Edhi Avenue to Captain Farhan Shaheed Park to Khayaban-e-Ittehad and back to Moin Khan Academy.
The commissioner further said that in order to facilitate the participants, camps will be set up at different points on the route of race where water, washroom facilities, first aid, food stalls and shuttle services will be provided.
