‘Advance nursing courses should be ensured at all colleges’

Minister reviews progress of ongoing health projects

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said advance nursing courses would be introduced at all nursing colleges to ensure best healthcare to the masses.

The minister expressed these views during a meeting to review the progress of ongoing development projects in the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department on Friday.

The health minister chaired the meeting through online video, whereas Special Secretary Development Dr Farrukh Naveed, Shahzad Leghari, Noorul Ain and other officials were present in the meeting.

She reviewed the current key development projects. The project cost and ancillary concerns were discussed with Indus hospital team.

The health minister said, "Through the government health cards, health services will be provided at Indus hospital”.

She said that government’s project with Indus Hospital will be reviewed after every three months.

The minister said that the last year, all nursing schools were upgraded to nursing colleges. “We will increase male quota in nursing colleges from 10 to 50%,”she claimed.

Dr Yasmin said the courses on anesthesia technologists, lab technologists and Operation Theatre Technologists must be ensured in all colleges.

Professional degrees to provide hospital services are essential.

“Under the current government’s vision top quality services are being provided to people through the provided health cards”, Health Minister said.

“A considerable number of hospitals are being empaneled with good health services in the province,” concluded the minister
