KU, WUS sign MoU on programmes of mutual interest

Agree to initiate projects for the benefit of students and faculties of both universities

The University of Karachi and Women University Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on educational, scientific, research cooperation, start-up, student entrepreneurship, and incubation support.

The in-charge KU Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation, Dr Asma Tabbasum, and the in-charge ORIC WUS, Dr Mehreen Riaz signed the MoU documents during a ceremony held at the Women University Swabi.

As per the MoU, both universities have agreed to assist startups on the idea/prototype basis, assistance for star-tups at the pilot stage, tie-up for other assistance for startups at the pilot stage, student entrepreneurship support, knowledge exchange: learning and sharing best practices on innovation and startup ecosystem development at micro and macro levels.

Under the MoU, both universities have also agreed for exchange of mentors and innovation and start-up exchange: state/national level business linkages for start-ups through co-incubation and short acceleration programmes and access to innovation labs for selected start-ups and identification of further collaboration.

The KU and the Women University Swabi would also initiate projects of mutual interests in the research, development, education, training and dissemination of knowledge on a long-term non-commercial basis and broaden their resources for faculties and students of both universities for mutual benefits.
