Lured with promise of job abroad, woman kidnapped, raped

Suspect Fatima was one of victim’s close friends

A woman was kidnapped on the pretext of travelling abroad by six suspects, including a woman while one of them raped her on Thursday.

Police registered a case against the suspects and started a search operation.

The complainant told police that suspect Sufiyan and his brother Adnan, Muhammad Amir, Zaheer and Fatima, wife of Ghufran took money from her on the pretext of sending her abroad.

She told police that one of the suspects Fatima was her close friend.

She further told police that Fatima, along with her husband Ghufran kidnapped her under the pretext of dropping her off at a nearby bus stop but took her to Chak No 625 GB.

She claimed that after being kidnapped, Fatima snatched her jewellery and forcibly took her to a house where Sufiyan raped her while the other suspects were drinking alcohol.

Police have registered a case under Section 496A and 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and started a search operation to find the involved suspects. The province has witnessed several fraud cases where women are subjected to sexual assault and looted on the pretext of getting a job or other interests.

On March 24, a teenage girl was raped by unidentified suspects in Khurrianwala on the pretext of getting her a job.

Reportedly, suspect Irfan called the victim on the pretext of providing her with a job in someone's house.

It was reported to the police that the suspect Irfan took the victim to a deserted place in his car with an unknown accomplice and raped her at gunpoint in the car.

The police said the suspects dumped the girl on Canal Road and fled from the scene.

Sargodha Road police registered a case under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against the two suspects and started searching for them.
