Alvi for boosting support to businesses
The government is determined to provide a conducive environment to the business community, said President Dr Arif Alvi.
While addressing the office bearers and members of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SCCI) on Tuesday, he said that efforts were afoot for promotion of the industrial sector of the country.
“Several steps are being taken to facilitate the businessmen and the industrial sector by providing them with enabling environment in a bid to help them expand economic and commercial activities in the country,” he said.
He added that the government was making concerted efforts to aid the industrial sector.
“The government is encouraging the youth to establish its own businesses and in this regard, Rs100 billion have been allocated under the Kamyab Jawan Programme,” said Alvi.
He urged the trade chambers to play their due roles in motivating traders to pay taxes and support government’s endeavours concerning documentation of the economy.
Talking about the issue of gas crises with the businessmen of Karachi earlier this month, he said that the problem would be addressed by the government and it would be resolved on a priority basis to aid the overall economy.
He also underlined the need for enhanced participation of women in business activities of Pakistan.
