Quacks in trouble

Non-compliant clinics and clinics of uncertified doctors sealed

KARACHI:

The central district administration is continuing its operations against substandard medical centres, unqualified medical practitioners and quacks who are playing with the people's health.

The Shah Medical Center, which remained operational despite being sealed in North Nazimabad, was re-sealed. The people expressed their gratitude for the action taken by Central Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem against those who were playing with the health of the people.

Central Deputy Commissioner Taha had recently sealed off private hospitals, clinics and dispensaries in different areas during the crackdown on substandard medical centres, including Shah Medical Center and General Hospital in North Nazimabad. However, the hospital administration put an advertisement pamphlet on the government seal to hide it and re-opened the medical centre.

On the report of this illegal act, the central DC and Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Imran Ali Rajput raided the centre and re-sealed it.

It is to be noted that the district administration is taking full action against the unqualified doctors, illegal medical centres, clinics and medical stores across the district.

Many so-called doctors who do not have MBBS or other necessary credentials and self-made doctors who do not have the right to practice medicine are playing with the people's health, due to which reports of sudden incidents and deaths are often received.

In this regard, Assistant Commissioners of all districts are shutting down medical centres and clinics if they do not have the required credentials according to the measures of medical laws.
