KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Sirajul Haq has said that the PPP leadership in Sindh will have to take notice of the sit-in representing aspirations of 30 million people of Karachi or face the music.

He expressed these views on Sunday while addressing the protesters on 24th day of the sit-in protest against the Sindh government over the black local bodies law that further squeezed powers of the local government set-up in Sindh.

Speaking on the occasion he said that the top judge should have taken notice of the sit-in as protecting rights of 30 million people also falls under the ambit of his jurisdiction.

He paid a rich tribute to the participants of the sit-in for representing aspirations of 30 million people of Karachi and showing an unshakeable resolve even in the face of very hard weather conditions. He said that the JI will not let the people of Karachi alone and would take the case of Karachi to all parts of the country.

He said that Karachi has not only been facing lawlessness and bloodshed but also fleecing inflation as well as injustice.

He said that the only way forward to get rid of all these issues is an Islamic system of governance. The prevailing system of injustice was imposed on the people of Pakistan by the same ruling elite that is an extension of the East India Company, he said.

What is the difference between the PTI and the PPP and the PML-N and or any other political party, he asked. A true Muslim would never support tyranny and oppression, he said and asked the people of Karachi not to support the people who are responsible for injustice to Karachi and Karachiites.
