Ex-NADRA official held for issuing CNIC to Afghan man

The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle has arrested former NADRA official who issued national identity card to an Afghan citizen by putting his name with a Pakistani family as their member.

Former deputy assistant director Gibran Oliver has included Afghan citizen Nimatullah's name in the family tree of a Pakistani citizen Ahmad Jan.

According to FIA's Additional Director, Dr. Farooq, the inquiry, registered with FIA Quetta regarding forgery, has been shifted to Karachi. The case was registered, and the accused was arrested after conducting an investigation on the complaint of the affected Pakistani citizen in this case.

As a former in-charge of NADRA Registration Centre West, the arrested accused committed forgery during his deployment. A case has been registered against the accused under the Foreigners Act, 1946. Investigations are underway into the role of other accomplices in the forgery.
