An oil tanker was gutted when it caught fire after some unidentified persons attacked it on Wednesday in the Mian Gundi area, a suburb of the provincial capital.
The oil tanker, carrying logistics for the forces stationed in Afghanistan, was on its way from Karachi when unidentified armed men intercepted the vehicle and opened indiscriminate fire at it. As a result, the tanker was completely destroyed.
Those onboard remained unharmed. Police personnel reached the site and cordoned off the entire area and began a search for the culprits. An investigation into the matter has been opened, said the police.
