Schools issued guidelines to combat Omicron

The Sindh Education Department has issued guidelines for parents to protect students from the coronavirus variant called Omicron.

Director General of Schools Dr Mansoob Hussain Siddiqui sent a letter to all the schools. The letter instructed parents that Omicron is also affecting children. "Parents must get their children vaccinated. They should not let their children go out of the house unnecessarily. Don't attend events like parties and places like shopping malls, parks and wedding halls etc," the guidelines read.

"Students must wear masks at school and in the classroom. Don't buy anything from outside on the way home from school. After returning home from somewhere outside, children should wash their hands and face thoroughly to protect themselves from germs. Children are our future. Take special care of them," the guidelines said.

Coronavirus has spread by more than 40%. The virus is spreading rapidly in Pakistan, especially Karachi. Under the government's decision, educational institutions will remain open and the teaching process will continue.
