Teenager, child strangled over domestic dispute

Neighbours arrest accused and hand him over to police

A teenager and her 11-year-old relative were strangled with a wire by the former’s brother-in-law over a domestic dispute.

The deceased were identified as 19-year-old Khadija Fatima, wife of Hassan, and her sister-in-law, 11-year-old Zainab Fatima.

Zainab’s 14-year-old brother Faizan managed to save his life by escaping from the scene.

According to the police report, Shoaib, a rickshaw driver, barged into the house of his teenage sister-in-law Khadija and strangled her and her husband’s kid sister Zainab.

His next target was supposed to be Faizan, but he managed to run out of the house and into the street and gathered the people of the area.

As Shoaib was attempting to escape the scene of the crime, the people of the area managed to overpower him and handed him over to the police.

Panic spread in the area over the incident of the double murder.

Police shifted the bodies of the teenager and the child to the hospital for postmortem and started investigation.

The RPO took notice of the matter and sought details of the incident from the CPO.

As soon as the incident of double murder was reported, the SSP of Operation, Abdullah Lakh, the SP of Madina Town, the DSP of Sargodha Road and the SHO of Mansurabad, Inspector Mohsin Munir Basra, reached the crime scene and took possession of the bodies and shifted them to the Allied Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

They also started the interrogation of the accused.

According to SHO Mohsin Munir Basra, the accused Shoaib arrived at the house of his sister-in-law Khadija Fatima at Waheed Park from Manwala in the afternoon and killed her and her sister-in-law (husband’s sister) over a domestic dispute.
