Suspect attacked his father with the help of a friend

A man was gunned down by his son out of resentment over being evicted from his house on Sunday.

Police handed over the body to the relatives after postmortem and registered a case against the suspects on charges of murder.

Reportedly, Muhammad Ashraf, a resident of Chak No. 198RB in Manianwala area had evicted his three sons from his home one by one.

When Ashraf reached his house after selling eggs, his youngest son Bilal along with his friend Ramzan shot and injured him.

The victim was rushed to Allied Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Millat Town police reached the hospital on receiving information and took the body into custody.

A case was registered against the suspect Bilal and his friend Ramzan under Sections 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) on the complaint of the victim’s eldest son Ali Asghar.

The police carried out raids to arrest the main suspect and his accomplice.

A police official said the suspect Bilal had tried to portray the incident as that of robbery after murdering his father but CCTV footage from the location revealed the truth.

Violence against family members out of anger and property dispute is not uncommon in the province.

On Wednesday, a man shot his stepmother and brother to death while injuring his father over a piece of land dispute here at Mosa Khokhraan in the jurisdiction of Fateh Shah Police on Wednesday.

Police said Khizer Hayat had a lingering land dispute with his father Dost Muhammad, stepmother Shamaa Bibi and stepbrother Azher.

On the day of the incident after an exchange of harsh words among them, the accused opened fire at them and shot his stepmother and stepbrother to death on the spot while his father got serious injuries.

The accused managed to escape from the spot. Rescue 1122 along with police reached the spot and shifted the bodies and injured to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Burewala for necessary legal formalities. Police also have started investigations into the incident and have registered the case against the accused.

Similarly, in March 2021, a man, his pregnant wife and two children were murdered allegedly by his father in Kotli Kokian.

According to local people, both the children were beaten to death with an iron rod in front of their mother. Later on, the woman was also killed. According to the police report, the incident took place in Kotli Kokian village of Motra area.

Basharat and his son Adnan were allegedly involved in a property dispute. Adnan was feeding buffaloes near his house when he was shot dead.
