The public-private partnership model can act as a massive breakthrough for the economy, hence, the government should take the business community on board in all economic matters, emphasised Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Mian Nauman Kabir.
He was of the view that the government should ensure adequate representation of the private sector in all important bodies, be it the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) or export promotion-related departments.
In a statement on Saturday, Kabir underlined that the business community could become the most powerful economic force of the government, if it was taken on board and treated like partners.
“Being a major stakeholder of the country, businessmen should also have representation in parliament,” he remarked.
