Fans can hardly wait for Atif Aslam, Aima Baig's PSL7 anthem
Earlier this week, a video of superstar Atif Aslam meeting Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam went viral on social media. In the said clip, the Doori crooner comes in to hug Babar and the two engage in a lovely exchange. Many speculated back then whether Atif meeting Babar and Co was his subtle way of hinting that he has been roped in to sing this year's coveted PSL anthem.
And they were right on the money!
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday announced Atif will be joined by Aima Baig to sing the upcoming anthem of the seventh installment of PSL. The song will be produced by celebrated musician, Abdullah Siddiqui.
This will be the first time Atif Aslam will sing the PCB’s marquee event song, while Aima Baig had featured in last year’s Groove Mera, which turned out to be a smashing hit.
Soon after the news broke out, fans took to social media and expressed their excitement for the yet-to-be-released song.
Make some noise for Abdullah Siddiqui!
Where's the lie?
Speaking about the upcoming song, Siddiqui shared, “Getting to produce this anthem is a dream for any musician, and I’m very honored and thankful to the PCB for the opportunity this year."
He added, “Both Atif Aslam and Aima Baig are undeniably the best and working with them has been a privilege. I’m very excited for fans to hear what we have come up with. We have tried to produce a song that captures the spirit of the game in a meaningful way, while still being very fun and catchy.”
We can't wait for this year's PSL anthem!
