Security during Tablighi Ijtima reviewed
The West Zone DIG, Nasir Aftab presided over a meeting regarding the security of the annual Tablighi Ijtema in Manghopir.
In addition to the West SSP, Rangers officers, DSPs, traffic police, in-charge Bomb Disposal Squad, Fire Brigade, K-electric besides other senior officials, Amir of Tablighi Ijtema Abdul Wahab and other officials attended the meeting.
The West Zone DIG said that security would be provided to the gathering place round the clock.
A police camp will be set up under the leadership and presence of the SP where he will be present to deal with any situation while SDPOs and SHOs of Manghopir and Pakistan Bazar will assist him and will review and report on all security measures.
The DIG West strongly recommended that all types of cabins and pushcarts be kept 100 metres away from the Ijtema.
There should be no compromise ion security under any circumstances. Traffic staff will also be deployed for traffic flow and parking.

The DIG said that a comprehensive contingency plan is being prepared in consultation with other stakeholders to ensure security measures which will be strictly followed.
Further meetings will be held regarding the security of Tablighi Ijtema, the Omicron wave of Covid-19 and its prevention and the senior officers will also visit the Ijtema for reviewing the security and other issues.
On this occasion, Nasir Aftab was informed by Amir Abdul Wahab of Tablighi Ijtema that the annual Tablighi Ijtema will commence from the evening of January 27 and will conclude on January 30 morning with a special prayer.
