Bitter chill grips twin cities after rain

Complaints of power outages have been received in various parts of city

Like other cities of the country, the rain continued for the second day in Rawalpindi which increased the severity of the cold. According to the meteorological department, the rain will continue for the next few days. More than 22 mm of rain was recorded in the catchment areas of Rawalpindi Nullah Leh, while Shamsabad recorded 25 mm of rain and 23 mm of rain was recorded in Chaklala.

The rains have increased the severity of cold, while there has been a significant reduction in fog and air pollution.

According to IESCO officials, complaints of power outages have been received in various parts of the city during the rainy season. The power supply company has advised citizens to stay away from electric poles and wires to ensure protection from electric shocks and other mishaps. It is the responsibility of the citizens to prevent such accidents, they said.

Low attendance in offices

The attendance in public and private offices of the twin cities remained thin for a second day, as a significant number of pleasure and comfort seekers opted for leaves to enjoy the rainy spell.

Murree and Galiyat, which received heavy snowfall, were the nearest holiday options for the twin cities' dwellers. They have attracted a large number of visitors for the second consecutive working day.
